The graphics will not display properly on most telnet programs. I recommend you download and install CRT 3.46 and follow the setup setting below. It's quick and easy. After that when you connect the display will look like it should with all the fancy animation and designs.
Get full version of CRT 3.46 here: http://www.geniv.com/kin/downloads/CRT_3.46.exe
Change the 3 setting to what you see below on the "Session Options"

- Everything is pretty much the same as it was shut down in 2000
- User list is unchanged if u have an account it's still here
- Some Doors won't load, some of those old DOS program just won't run under WinXP.
- Mass File storage disabled, though some files are still available and upload is enabled
- Dial Up Node1: (718) xxx-xxxx (Yupe, Owner is still the same as before)
Problem: Graphics looks weird, system seems slow, "light bars" don't respond to my arrow keys
Solution: Pot-d was designed to take full advantage of ANSI graphics and it's extensively designed to use lightbar interface. While it runs perfect through Dial-Up, over telnet the none standard design cause display problems with most telnet client programs. Download and install CRT and use that to connect.Problem: I can't connect to the system
Solution: pot-d is run off my DSL with a dynamic IP so make sure u visit this page for updated IP. but it's probably on my side and could be cause by the following:
- I didn't update the IP address on this page to match that of my connection
- The computer running Pot-D is not turned on
- Still bugs I gotta work out on why sometimes it won't take incoming "calls"Problem: I'm weak and run out of breath easily
Solution: You need to do some push ups and go jogging regularly
Bring Pot-d back from the dead?
This a legacy BBS system design for dial up. There are still some bugs with the telnet conversion. and also the issue of my dynamic IP. Anyway I have to reactivated it, because it contains a searching utility that index files from 100 CDs. It's a lot faster to search with "Zippy Scan" than pop 100 CDs in and out of my PC to look for a specific file/program.
Since everything is reactivated and installed already, and I have an extra PC with DSL hook up, I figure I can make it telnetable. Plus I need to access the file database from remote anyway.
